Blue Damask Wallpaper for Dining Rooms

Damask takes its name from woven silks traded through Damascus. Its mirrored, scrolling medallions bring formality and heritage character.

Dining rooms come alive by lamplight, which is why rich, dark or highly decorative wallpapers excel here. Consider papering all four walls for an enveloping, intimate mood.

Blue is calm, trustworthy and endlessly versatile, from airy duck egg to inky indigo.

Our edit of 16 original designs includes baroque damask, classic damask, heritage damask, regency damask. Highlights from the edit include Caldwell Heritage Damask, Poppleton Classic Damask, Chandler Regency Damask.

Styling tips

  • Tone-on-tone damask is a sophisticated backdrop for antiques; high-contrast versions suit modern gothic or maximalist schemes.
  • Pale blues open up north-facing rooms when paired with warm whites; deep blues cocoon.
  • Dark grounds hide marks and make candlelight glow.
  • Hang damask centred on a chimney breast or bed so the medallions line up symmetrically.

How much will I need?

A typical dining room wall of about 4.0 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 8 drops. With a 64 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 3 rolls – from £132.60 on Standard paper to £217.62 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.

Make it your own

Every design in this edit can be recoloured, rescaled and previewed on a photo of your own wall in Design Your Own, then printed made-to-measure.
