Botanical Wallpaper for Bedrooms
Botanical wallpaper draws on the Victorian passion for plant hunting, when glasshouses filled with ferns and palms. Today it is the easiest way to bring a sense of growth and calm into rooms that lack a garden view.
Bedrooms are the perfect place to experiment because they are private and lived in mostly at night. A papered wall behind the bed acts like an oversized headboard.
Our edit of 120 original designs includes eucalyptus, fern, leaf sprig, scattered leaf, trailing vine. Highlights from the edit include Magnolia Leaf Sprig, Sheldon Scattered Leaf, Orchard Leaf Sprig.

Styling tips
- Pair leafy prints with natural textures – rattan, linen, oak – and pick a paint colour from the darkest leaf for woodwork.
- Calming palettes and organic patterns help bedrooms feel restful.
- Large leaves suit big walls; smaller sprigs and trailing vines are better in cloakrooms and alcoves where you see the pattern up close.
How much will I need?
A typical bedroom wall of about 3.6 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 7 drops. With a 53 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 3 rolls – from £132.60 on Standard paper to £217.62 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.
Make it your own
Every design in this edit can be recoloured, rescaled and previewed on a photo of your own wall in Design Your Own, then printed made-to-measure.
Frequently asked questions
Is botanical wallpaper a good choice for a bedroom?
Large leaves suit big walls; smaller sprigs and trailing vines are better in cloakrooms and alcoves where you see the pattern up close. Calming palettes and organic patterns help bedrooms feel restful. We currently have 120 botanical designs suited to bedrooms.
How many rolls of wallpaper do I need?
Measure the width of each wall and the height from skirting to ceiling. Our rolls are 52 cm wide and 10 m long. Use the roll calculator on every product page – it accounts for the pattern repeat and recommends one spare roll.
Which paper should I choose for a bathroom or kitchen?
Choose Premium (scrubbable) or Luxe and make sure the room is well ventilated. Avoid areas of direct water contact such as inside showers.
Is your wallpaper paste-the-wall?
All Wallpaper Kingdom papers are non-woven and paste-the-wall, so they are quicker to hang and dry-strippable when you want a change.
