Gold & Yellow Toile Wallpaper
Toile de Jouy took its name from the French village where printed cottons with pastoral scenes were produced in the 1700s. Single-colour vignettes give rooms a gentle, storybook rhythm.
Yellow and gold tones bring sunshine and warmth, lifting dark rooms instantly.

Styling tips
- Match the toile ink colour to a stripe or check on cushions and curtains – the classic 'toile and ticking' pairing never fails.
- Mustard and ochre suit mid-century and maximalist schemes; soft gold feels luxurious.
- Because toile is monochrome, it is easy to live with in bedrooms and kitchens and works on all four walls.
How much will I need?
A typical kitchen wall of about 3.0 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 6 drops. With a 53 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 2 rolls – from £88.40 on Standard paper to £145.08 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.
Make it your own
Every design in this edit can be recoloured, rescaled and previewed on a photo of your own wall in Design Your Own, then printed made-to-measure.
Frequently asked questions
What goes with gold & yellow toile wallpaper?
Match the toile ink colour to a stripe or check on cushions and curtains – the classic 'toile and ticking' pairing never fails. Mustard and ochre suit mid-century and maximalist schemes; soft gold feels luxurious.
Are your designs original?
Yes. Every pattern is an original Wallpaper Kingdom artwork created in-house; we do not reproduce other designers' work.
How many rolls of wallpaper do I need?
Measure the width of each wall and the height from skirting to ceiling. Our rolls are 52 cm wide and 10 m long. Use the roll calculator on every product page – it accounts for the pattern repeat and recommends one spare roll.
Which paper should I choose for a bathroom or kitchen?
Choose Premium (scrubbable) or Luxe and make sure the room is well ventilated. Avoid areas of direct water contact such as inside showers.
