Navy Toile Wallpaper for Bedrooms
Toile de Jouy took its name from the French village where printed cottons with pastoral scenes were produced in the 1700s. Single-colour vignettes give rooms a gentle, storybook rhythm.
Bedrooms are the perfect place to experiment because they are private and lived in mostly at night. A papered wall behind the bed acts like an oversized headboard.
Navy is the new neutral: deep, tailored and easy to pair with brass and timber.
Our edit of 12 original designs includes country scene, estate toile, folly toile, grand tour toile, hunting lodge toile, orchard toile and more. Highlights from the edit include Hanbury Orchard Toile, Perrin Village Toile, Waddesdon Hunting Lodge Toile.

Styling tips
- Match the toile ink colour to a stripe or check on cushions and curtains – the classic 'toile and ticking' pairing never fails.
- Navy suits studies, bedrooms and dining rooms especially well.
- Calming palettes and organic patterns help bedrooms feel restful.
- Because toile is monochrome, it is easy to live with in bedrooms and kitchens and works on all four walls.
How much will I need?
A typical bedroom wall of about 3.6 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 7 drops. With a 64 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 3 rolls – from £132.60 on Standard paper to £217.62 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.
Make it your own
