Pink Chinoiserie Wallpaper for Living Rooms
Chinoiserie began in 18th-century Europe as an imaginative response to imported painted silks and porcelain. Branches, blossom and birds give walls a hand-painted, collected-over-time feel.
The living room is where most people start with wallpaper. A feature wall behind the sofa or across the chimney breast gives an instant focal point without overwhelming the space.
Pink has grown up: blush, plaster and rose tones are sophisticated neutrals in their own right.
Our edit of 18 original designs includes cherry bough, garden birds, lacquer garden, pavilion garden, songbird. Highlights from the edit include Rossiter Garden Birds, Saltram Pavilion Garden, Lacock Lacquer Garden.

Styling tips
- Lacquer-red, celadon and gold accents suit chinoiserie, as do bamboo-effect furniture and blue-and-white ceramics.
- Pair pinks with green or rust for a modern, balanced look.
- Measure each wall separately and include alcoves; our calculator adds the pattern repeat for you.
- Run it all the way round a dining room or bedroom to create the immersive 'painted room' effect it was invented for.
How much will I need?
A typical living room wall of about 4.2 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 9 drops. With a 64 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 3 rolls – from £132.60 on Standard paper to £217.62 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.
Make it your own
Every design in this edit can be recoloured, rescaled and previewed on a photo of your own wall in Design Your Own, then printed made-to-measure.
