Purple Wallpaper for Living Rooms
The living room is where most people start with wallpaper. A feature wall behind the sofa or across the chimney breast gives an instant focal point without overwhelming the space.
Purple – from lavender to plum – feels creative, romantic and a little unexpected.
Our edit of 77 original designs includes arch, atomic star, banana leaf, blooms, blossom branch, boomerang and more. Highlights from the edit include Magnolia Leaf Sprig, Caldwell Diamond, Vivian Deco Fan.

Styling tips
- Mix with sage or ochre to keep it modern.
- Measure each wall separately and include alcoves; our calculator adds the pattern repeat for you.
How much will I need?
A typical living room wall of about 4.2 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 9 drops. With a 53 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 3 rolls – from £132.60 on Standard paper to £217.62 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.
Make it your own
Every design in this edit can be recoloured, rescaled and previewed on a photo of your own wall in Design Your Own, then printed made-to-measure.
Frequently asked questions
Will purple wallpaper work in my living room?
Mix with sage or ochre to keep it modern. Measure each wall separately and include alcoves; our calculator adds the pattern repeat for you.
Can I see the wallpaper on my own wall before buying?
Yes. In Design Your Own, take or upload a photo of your wall, drag the four corners into place and we will render the pattern onto your wall in perspective.
How many rolls of wallpaper do I need?
Measure the width of each wall and the height from skirting to ceiling. Our rolls are 52 cm wide and 10 m long. Use the roll calculator on every product page – it accounts for the pattern repeat and recommends one spare roll.
Which paper should I choose for a bathroom or kitchen?
Choose Premium (scrubbable) or Luxe and make sure the room is well ventilated. Avoid areas of direct water contact such as inside showers.
