Ideas & planning
Best wallpaper for rooms with low ceilings
Quick answer
Vertical stripes and upward-trailing patterns draw the eye upwards; papering right up to the ceiling (with no border) and painting the ceiling in the ground colour blurs the boundary. Avoid heavy horizontal bands and dark ceilings unless you want a deliberately cosy feel.

Questions & answers
Do vertical stripes make a ceiling look higher?
Yes, they lead the eye up, which is why stripes are a classic choice for cottages.
