Dark & Moody Wallpaper for Cloakrooms
The downstairs loo or cloakroom is the place to be brave. In a small room, bold pattern feels like a jewellery box rather than overwhelming.
Dark and moody wallpaper makes rooms feel cocooning and dramatic, and paradoxically can make small rooms feel larger as the corners recede.
Our edit of 243 original designs includes agate swirl, banana leaf, blooms, busy bee, butterfly, calacatta-look marble and more. Highlights from the edit include Flaxton Garden Toile, Edmund Medina Star, Sheffield Twilight Posy.

Styling tips
- Use warm lamps rather than overhead light to make dark walls glow.
- Pattern on all walls and even the ceiling is a designer trick worth trying.
How much will I need?
A typical cloakroom wall of about 1.6 m wide × 2.4 m high needs 4 drops. With a 53 cm pattern repeat you get 3 drops per 10 m roll, so you would order 2 rolls – from £88.40 on Standard paper to £145.08 on Luxe. Use the calculator on any product page for your exact walls.
Make it your own
Every design in this edit can be recoloured, rescaled and previewed on a photo of your own wall in Design Your Own, then printed made-to-measure.
